Population: 3,700,000 registered Syrian refugees
Istanbul is home to the highest concentration of Syrian refugees and nearly 193,000 Syrians were given Turkish citizenship. Life in Turkey is not easy for Syrians. They are no longer allowed to settle in large cities, but are being placed in smaller villages throughout Turkey. In these areas work is hard to come by and families struggle to make ends meet. Of the 3.7 million Syrians only 80,000 live in refugee camps.
"God our Savior, who desire all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:3b-4
Lord, we ask that You would open the hearts of Syrians living in Turkey and they would come to know Christ. They would know that Jesus is the only way to a relationship with God and that it is His blood that will save them. Lord, use believers living in Turkey to be the hands and feet of Christ and to share with the Syrians living among them.
