Located on the Euphrates River, Samawah is the capital city of the Muthanna province. It is halfway between the cities of Baghdad and Basra. At one point Samawah was a predominantly Shia and Jewish city. However after the Jewish exodus in the 1940s and 50s, it became almost exclusively a Shia Islamic city.
“For at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” Ephesians 5:8
Lord, may thousands of people in Samawah become children of light. Father, break through the darkness and draw these people to Yourself. May the people of Samawah hear Your story on TV, radio, and the internet. We believe that even Samawah is ripe for harvest – send laborers and Iraqi believers into the darkness to bring Your light.
